      Hachijojima

    Hachijo's three surf breaks are located in the southern most tip of the island just past the port of Borazawa. Accommodation and restaurants are sparse and most surfers commute from other areas. Hachijojima attracts surfers and bodyboarders from far and wide. All three are reef breaks with a rocky seabed. Sea urchin are prevalent so booties are a good idea unless you have tough feet. There are no tubes but the waves are rippable with long shoulders and rides. There are no surf shops so you should bring wax, ropes, equipment, etc.

     Hachijo :: Kaisar
     Hachijo :: Santos
    Surf Points Kaisar is regular and goofy. Best conditions are North swell but both North and South swells are surfable.This is the locals favoured point so arriving in large groups is discouraged.
    SurferSantos is for goofy surfers. Best conditions are in Winter with a North swell. Nov-feb sees the best waves here. Rides up to 100m long.
     Hachijo :: Tacos
      Hachijo :: Borazawa
    Reef Break!Tacos is regular only. And a good 10 minutes paddle from the shore. Best conditions are in Summer and Sep-Nov. Perfect conditions give you 150m rides. If waves are over 6ft there are strong currents here! Borazawa hot springThe fishing port of Borazawa has a free hot spring to warm up after a session carving it up. (No soap or shampoo is allowed.)
