Hachijojima's free campsite is one of the best you
will ever see. It's open year round and bookings are
not required. Situated 5 mins walk North from the main
port and beach of Sokodo with spectacular views of the
ocean. Will easily accommodate large groups with a capacity
of more than 80 tents(approx). Facilites include; toilets,
showers(cold water only!), sinks, food prep areas, B.B.Q.
pits, etc. It also has a typhoon shelter, only for use
in inclement weather. There is no campground superintendent.

Hachijo's campsite is unsurpassed with spectacular seaviews.
The pristine grounds are located in natural and serene
settings. It does rain a lot so be sure to bring a tent

The
campsite facilities are top notch. Plenty of space for
food preparation and cooking. Cold running water and
sinks galore. The washrooms and showers are clean and
tidy. 
Plenty
of barbeque pits and grilles to go around with wood being
stockpiled before major holidays.
There
are three large grounds for camping so there's plenty
of space for everyone.
